Pastor Mark Redner
Mark is best described as a passionate lover of God, and His presence, with a longing for the nation of Canada to be filled with His glory. Sent to Ottawa with a vision of the Capital region on fire for God with a fire that would touch the Nation and beyond. From Sea to Sea, from the river to the ends of the earth (Ps. 72:8). Like a modern day John the Baptist in the wilderness on the outskirts of the city, Mark has been a voice calling the church to return to their First Love to the place where it's all about the Lord. Mark preaches and puts to practice laying down the local vision for the larger Kingdom vision, to partner with other Pastors and leaders in the Ottawa Valley and Capital region to seek the Lord with all their heart (Jer. 29:12-13). Mark teaches the church as well as those in the marketplace it's time to get out of the pew and back into His presence ...that we can do nothing without Him (John 15:5). As seen on the Miracle Channel, He explains that the key to revival is not in praying for revival but rather gathering the church in repentance praying for one thing – the Lord to come in all His glory- on earth as it is in heaven. Seeking first the King and His Kingdom rather than "every" thing (Matt. 6:33). The bride of Christ has one prayer "to be with Him". Mark is calling the nation of Canada to that one prayer to seek God with all their heart at such a time as this.
The journey:
Mark was the owner of a successful business in Canadian Historical Fine Art. He was called into ministry, during a mission trip to Africa, in 1994. Upon graduating from Bible college in 1997, Mark pastored in Mississauga for 3 years and was an itinerate evangelist for 2 years before returning to Ottawa.
About eight years ago, God called Mark, his wife Kiwanda, and four children (Jacob, Alyssa, Kailyn & Julia) to move in faith to Ottawa. God simply said, “Come follow me”. God confirmed His word to Kiwanda giving her a vision of a map of Canada where she saw the fire of God come down on Ottawa and then spread across the nation. They wanted to be obedient and not miss what God was about to do.
In Ottawa , Mark led a number of key city-wide prayer initiatives. Gathering people of prayer across Ottawa to stand together with one heart after God, seeking first the Kingdom of God for Canada and its capital. Mark has also coordinated teams to pray in Ottawa area businesses. This growing market place ministry has already seen the hearts of business owners and employees transformed beyond the walls of the church.
A year later God led Mark to pastor a small church in the rural west end of Ottawa (Kinburn). West Carleton Christian Assembly was a place of revival that spread across Canada close to 100 years ago. It was founded by revivalist Robert E. McAlister, the first recorded Canadian to visit
Azusa Street. Sadly, the presence of God was lacking and attendance was declining and some had even closing the doors. God said to Mark and his wife, "re-dig the old wells of revival and call the people back to their first love". With a small group of praying believers, they began re-digging the old wells and seeking Gods’ presence. In God’s presence many people have been saved, healed and set free from cancer, diabetes, arthritis, tumors, chronic leg pain, back problems, carpal tunnel syndrome, hip, feet, and neckpain, respiratory problems, freedom from depression, high blood pressure, and others, all healed in the presence of God.
Prayers have shifted from praying for West Carleton Christian Assembly to the Lord’s presence to come on the region and the nation. God said to give away revival – that revival is not focused on one church but on the whole region. Mark has co-founded Valley Outreach Ministries which gathers pastors and leaders from different denominations to work together to see the plan of God fulfilled that goes way beyond one pastor or one church. God has given the burden to call the whole nation back to their first Love and return to the place where it’s all about Him. “We all have realized that God is doing something here that is far bigger than us. We are a people in a small church with God given faith to believe that God is about to pour out His Spirit across this nation. Our cry is that no one miss what God is doing.”
